......when you sit on the deck at 8:30 p.m. on a weekend just to watch a flower open??

Evening primrose has got to be one of the most 'fun' flowers. In a matter of seconds, you can watch a flower unfurl and within 15 minutes it's covered in blooms. By morning they start turning to mush but by dusk it's ready to put on another show all over again.

A nearby retirement home ran an article last year about the residents gathering by the evening primrose each night to count the blooms as they opened. And here my dh and I were doing the same thing. Gosh, don't that make a person feel old! Won't be ready for the retirement home for another 40 years or so, but at least I know they have good entertainment. LOL
