Maybe I need to invest in another camera. Any recommendations?

I don't know a great camera...I have a cheaper end digital but it sucks! I've been using my Sanyo M1 camera phone that has just about all the tricks of a good digital camera. Maybe you could try zooming out a little more?

Most Hollyhocks are biennials and bloom the following year. I bet you by fall though you will have put on a lot more foliage :)
