Hollyhocks wintersown 2 years ago

Hollyhock ‘Nigra’ doesn’t exactly "pop" in the garden, but it’s very dramatic.

Viola x wittrockiana Historic Pansies

Poppies. Love those nodding heads.

Daisy and Flax (flax not wintersown)

Your poppies are beautiful! I'm a newbie, and was quite successful, I think, for the first year, but was not able to grow poppies. All I can do is try again next winter. :) Do you know the name of yours? Thanks for your posting.

Do your hollyhocks bloom the first year? I ws'd a few this year, they have lots of leaves, no flower stalks yet.
