I would have never thought I could grow dahlias from seed :))

these are "Bishop's Children" and they are now starting to bloom- just beautiful!

thanks to Hanne in Denmark for the seeds-
I will take them up this fall to save them and grow again
love the foliage - can't wait to see the rest of the blooms!

Isn't the foliage gorgeous? I was surprised how easy the seeds germinated. So far, mine comes in orange and red. I like the dark red better.

RE: ws Dahlia

I too was amazed that I could grow Dahlias from seed. I didn't dream that the plants would reach this size and actually bloom the first year! I also have 3 pots from a mix of seed I'd received; those have a brighter green foliage and the blooms are all shapes, sizes and colors, even bicolors! I just love them!

RE: ws Dahlia

I love that bronze foliage....nice enough even without the flower bonus!

RE: ws Dahlia

Very nice...please post more pics as they bloom. I ws some Dahlia this year too. I am going to try and save some of my favorites for next year too.
