| Grew batfaced cuphea in a couple of different places. With a little shade the flower was lighter, almost two toned pinkish.

looks more like summer medley cuphea--love it!

Thanks, Jaynine. I looked up summer meldley and agree that it looks like that cuphea instead of bat-faced. Trades aren't always what one expects and I was going by the trader's name on the packet.

now i'm second guessing myself and thinking it might be 'firefly'. what do you think? well, whatever it's name is, it's great!

I looked at 'Firefly' but think my seeds are more likely to be 'Summer Medley' as different plants had different coloring in their blooms. As I was researching it appears that the term batfaced can be used as a generic term for these type of cuphea. I really was hoping for ones that had more black in the center but find these quite lovely.

Thank you for the compliment on my photos. I am not really much of a photographer. Have an automatic point and shoot digital camera that I well...point and shoot. Maybe if I read the instructions I could get better photos. Please share any photos you have of your gardens.
