Anyone keep track of their germination rate (a good guess even) in past years of their petunias?

Karen, i have admired your petunia pics in another post and i so hope mine will be that great! Do u use milk jugs? How many seeds do u put in each container? Do u plot a HOS in your planters and just let them be? Please do share your method! Thx

Like Karen, I don't count the seeds, but usually sow a (very) small pinch of them. Germination is great.

When planting out, I just put a small hunk in each spot, and let them do their thing (got maybe a dozen hunks out of the container shown above).

Woow!! Now THAT'S encouraging! Thanx for the pic! Ok, small pinch it is.

Me, too. With tiny, raw seeds I just sprinkle in the milk jug, then plant out HOS. If I have pelleted seeds, I space those out better. For some of the really big ones, like tidal waves, I only use a few pellets per jug, maybe 5 or 6, because they need space to spread as they grow. Tidal waves spread up to 4' at maturity, they're big plants!
