Already got sprouts . . . .

Is that normal? This is my first year and I put out containers New Year's Day. My dianthus and lupine are already sprouting. Containers are in the shade. We have highs in the 50-60s and lows in the 20-30s.

Dianthus are always the first of the perennial seed to sprout for me. They prefer sprouting in humidity, but cold is not necessary for their germination. I sowed a very cold hardy calendual and it's up already too, just took 2 days.
