| I'll be sure to take TONS of pics. I do have a link on "my page" to show what my beds looked like last year. I can't wait to take more before & afters myself!! Some of my beds are established but I have a pretty big corner lot & I plan to haul in dirt by the dumptruck load & totally outline my yard with scalloped edged, raised beds. We have a local supplier that mixes up the dirt w/ compost & peat moss & calls it "planters mix" & it's WONDERFUL & pretty CHEAP!! What am I most excited about..... That's hard! Everytime I ws a batch I think this might be my fave, no this one is my fave.. on & on & on! :-) I love columbine, butterfly bushes, candy lily, lilies, lambs ear, lupines, malvas, cherry brandy & cappuchino rudbeckia.... LOVE ZINNIAS-haven't sowed them yet.. And asters, coleus....I could go on & on... I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to flowers! LOL Jodie |
|
| Please add my newest 4 jugs to the zone 5 total. I think I have to stop WS since I got a complaint from the apartment manager about my one tidy row of labeled milk jugs being visible and looking like an eyesore, grrrr! |
|
| Jodie, could be I am impaired but I cannot locate the link on your "my page". I am quite interested as I am starting over on a one acre lot with no landscaping except for the lawn, foundation plantings and shrubs we put in last year. My plan is to haul in several yards of compost/loam for raised beds and fill them ASAP! At my age (70) I need instant gratification and cannot do a few small beds at a time! If you cannot link me would you mind sending me some of your pictures. Many thanks Daorothy (Meadows) |

| Meadows- You're absolutely right! My link is gone! So sorry!! Here it is... most of my beds are empty. I tried to do the under the lights growing but it went so slow & I only had so much room so very little got started. Which is why I LOVE winter sowing! Quick, easy & you can grow TONS!! :-) Next year I will connect the "island" beds that you see in my yard & like I said will totally outline my yard... Not sure my pics are what you're looking for but here they are.... |

| Another 15 for me today for a total of 109!! I broke that 100 marker, finally!! Glad to see you Manda I hope you get to feeling better. It sounds like you got bronchitis, that junk is horrible. It seems like it never wants to go away, and it is extremely hard to find cold medicine that hits for the chest. I feel for you cause I rather have the flu than a chest cold any day!! At least with the flu it goes away in a few days!! |

| Jodie, maybe so? My grandma's a great gardener, amazing in fact, but it wouldn't be the first time she got a little mixed up with names :) I should have saved the seedheads and took pictures of them so at least I would have that to help with guessing! Oh well! I know they were tiny seeds, so I just barely covered them with a sprinkle of dirt, and I know in her garden they were in a place that got full sun and not much water... so that's what I'll do too :) |

| Change my total to 60. At least that's how many I think I have. They're buried under 2 ft of snow thanks to a freak blizzard last week. In a whole season we average 9 inches, and in one night we got 14 with up to 4ft drifts. I'm reminding myself "they're snug & warm out there under all that snow" and keeping optimistic that they'll bloom when the time comes. |

| Hostarookie, if you will be in charge of this project, keep the count & the spreadsheet, I will try to do the html. Probably lots of typos! I used Manda's code, updated figures from your post above & added new names. Lots of things that I may need to change, I'm sure. As to the count, I was credited with 8 instead of the 6 I have so I subtracted 2 from z8 & from total. I will e-mail you about a few little things, hostarookie. Please check carefully everyone & e-mail me about errors, old errors. Post here as usual with your count. I am hoping that hostarookie can e-mail me her spreadsheet at regular intervals or that we can have it as a shared document online. Thanks to hostarookie for all that work!

| Gardenweed - Where are we going to put this mural? I can see it now, a slogan going all through it, made with the pictures: "In a winter sower's world, it's always spring" |
|
| 6 more for zone 6, total of 66 so far. I may do more tonight if my potting mix thaws. I haven't sown anything in a few weeks, and now that it's getting warmer I had better get to sowing! I don't think all of the seeds I have will get sown this year, I have daylily seeds that need to be sown this year, the rest can wait. Not enough jugs to do them all, plus I don't want to overwhelm myself when it comes time to planting. Karen |

| New total is 102. Got 11 more done today. Thanks. Judi oh z5 |
