Fafard complete container mix

Today, I went to a very high quality garden center and the gentleman that used to wait on me has left, moving out of the state, so somebody else is there in his place. I told him what I wanted to use the potting mix for wintersowing in milk jugs. He was familiar with wintersowing and had previously worked for another high quality garden center about 20 miles away. I saw where they had already started potting up what looked to be maybe bulbs in pots and he said they use Fafard complete container mix rather than the regular potting mix. I didn't want to use Miracle Grow potting mix again..This says for all kinds of containers, hanging baskets, patio containers,etc.

When I spoke to the other garden center last year, they praised Fafard and Espoma products. I'd like to hear from others if they have used this product for Wintersowing before I open the bag.

The outside temperature reached 14 degrees last night so hopefully in a few weeks, it will be staying below 32, good weather for WS! Friday, the temp is expected to be back in 40's. Hard to think about WS when it's that warm but know it is only temporary.

I've used it for many, many years. We only use the Fafard organic at our church Greenhouse. I love it. Works beautifully but it is pricy. I wish someone around here carried pro mix. It's similar and a great savings!

I've used Fafard too and it was good. I don't remember which particular formula it was, but one for container growing.

Many Thanks for your responses..Today I plan to prep my milk jugs but I think I'm going to hold off planting for a few more weeks. It was in low 60's yesterday and today is about the same..hard to think about WS when it is such great weather. I think I saw some bulbs popping through the surface already. Don't recall planting it where it is located but maybe it is something else. Will just wait and see.

A couple of days ago daffodils were up at my Mom's retirement center.

I've used Fafard All-Purpose Potting Mix for several years now. For WSing and in my "permanent" containers. Very satisfied customer. The box stores don't carry it, but I found a small garden center that does.

It's 60ÃÂ° here today - we started the week at 16ÃÂ°. Wacky weather.
