Please post here AFTER the other thread is full!!

The "rules"

Please post only NEW containers and not a running total.
Example: If your 1st post is 30 containers and you later sow another 30 containers your 2nd post should reflect only the additional 30 containers.
You can post your total as long as you indicate the number of new containers.
Example: "Zone 5 : Add 30 more containers for me. My total is now 60. "

Remember to add your zone to each post so we can see totals by zone.

I will update the totals on a regular basis and start a new post as needed.

5 today for z5 for a total of 68.

That's the way I'm going to count. Used 5 16 oz cups in one large container for a count of 1, got all my saved up tp rolls with 5 left over in two ice cream containers which counts as 2, and sowed 2 gallon jugs as usual.

It was a lot more work and much slower but I hope it will pay off. Pansy seeds with tweezers, what a pain that was. Probably too early for pansies but we shall see.

Please add 5 more containers for zone 5.

I keep finding more containers or using ziplock bags with cardboard inside (thanks Monte for the idea)

I might need Winter sowers addiction help! Once I start I have a hard time stopping till the bag of soil is gone!

Lynda and Jim, I am going to ask a very personal question. How on earth did you sow 84 and 85 respectively? In one day? How do you sow so many and how do you count? That's more than my running total, and I've been going pretty diligently here this year, missed some days due to this or that. I find a lot of it slow and tedious and am getting fed up with it lol. Seriously.

I threw 5 or 6 large oatmeal containers away, yeah I knew I could use them somehow but made myself.

Will start on my last bag of soil, then see where I go from there. If you sow in smaller containers and place in a large one, the soil goes a little further. It's taking a lot of soil to make 3 inches in a one-gallon jug, wait until I start on my flats!

I plan to do more containers for less hardy flowers and annuals at the end of the month. I'm really excited as this is the first year for me ws and I look forward to the results. I want to thank everybody for all their encouragement and instruction. Thanks again.

Oh, ok. Thanks. That is still a lot of jugs for 3 days. I wasn't doubting the veracity of what you reported, just wondered how you can do it so fast. That's an average of 28-1/3 a day.

I just washed and cut my juice jugs yesterday! I still have to make drainage holes and hole punch to close them. I did buy soil (not frozen) so I am almost ready but you all make me feel lazy for not getting these out!

I am using the "posted by" date to add these up so if you did jugs yesterday but posted today I'm gonna use todays date for the count. That way I don't have to go back and add jugs to a day and redo that days count :-)

Total for all zones is ten thousand eight hundred seventy six!
