Catalog ordering

I don't know what's up with the forum, I was trying to respond to Carol's post, and it kept telling me to change the subject, and even after I changed the subject, it still rejected me. :<
---
So anyway, here is my post:

Carol:"Any one else find any beauties you would like to try?"

Yes!
In Park catalogue, I ordered "Sunburst Orange Splash" Marigold, p. 51.

I already have dozens of Marigolds, from seed I collected from a neighbor. But these caught my eye.

And also ordered "Celosia Rainbow Sherbet" (p.31), I have other celosia seeds, but these look delicious - pink, yellow, orange, gold, red.
I hope they come out true to color.

---I think I musta been hungry when I placed this order. ;)

The marigolds are really pretty. I'll have to look for some of them

RE: Catalog ordering

you know after I posted this, I went to Dave's Garden "GardenWatchDog"
and I was surprised that Park Seeds has so MANY negative evaluations.
If I had read there first, I wouldn't have ordered.
But hopefully everything will flow well.

RE: Catalog ordering

I've not ordered from Park's in eons, if ever, but considered them to be reliable don't get their catalogs any more.

None of your seeds sound familiar or ones I've tried yet.

As to what's up, here's my theory. If you've been posting fairly recently, if yours is the last, and you want to post again, you definitely have to change the subject or your message will be rejected.

Even though there's been a subsequent post, it seems like it takes their computers awhile to catch up using whatever algorithm they use to prevent what? Probably accidental double posting (you will see a lot of that on some other sites; people think their posts don't take because of the time lag so hit submit again). So I've been getting message rejected on posts where people have posted after I did on the same thread as well, so I just add a little, a lot, or change the subject line completely, and the post will take.

RE: Catalog ordering

I still like Park for seeds and for their "Success with Seed" book (now at a lower price - great plant info, just ignore the sowing instructions and WS away!)

I will never order plants from them again. Way too many problems, too many times. Bad enough to just about sour me on ordering anything from them ever again. However, for seeds only order or for the book order I've never had any problems.

I ordered seeds from them and was really happy with them!

RE: Catalog ordering

I used to live close enough to drive to Park Seeds late in spring/summer to grab stuff on sale. I didn't know it wasn't a reliable mail order business.

Just yesterday I went seed crazy - ordered a ton of tomato seeds and plants and today found a potato source. I am waiting on that catalogue.

I have a box full of seeds to plant in my jugs and I can't get them ready. I think this is a form of OCD. It's just that it's so cold outside I can't imagine my little seeds being happy to be thrust out in the snow like that.
