Docmom, although I've sown 1 container of milkweed (swamp) so far, you've got me inspired to sow a few more. This is one species that the slugs tend to demolish in my gardens! Must remember to spread sluggo this year.

I guess I'll join in with the count, though I can't help out my former zone 6ers now that I am back in zone 5 again. So...

Yeah, I have a whopping total of 5. lol! I got a late start but I'll be slowly adding to this total. But not too many. I have enough mature plants to worry about transplanting from one state to another to have to add caring for too many babies on top of them. We'll see what happens next year. This year will be mostly plants for the butterflies and their cats.

Done with the small WS containers. In about 2 weeks I start planting cool weather food crops in large containers like tubs and buckets.

Add another 12 for Zone 8. My total is now 208 sowed and 67 germinated. I'm beginning to panic about how I'm going to get them all in the ground, but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.

Greetings, winter sowers. Wow impressive numbers Barbe. And 67 containers germinated? Gack, mine are still mostly covered with snow, but it's slowly melting. No sprouts here. Anybody else have lotsa sprouts?

My first try at winter sowing. Since there's still plenty of snow, it must not be too late! 16 containers for zone 4. Maybe the neighbors have some more jugs....

8 more today. My current total is 36 here in zone 5.
No sprouts yet.

8 more today for Zone 8. My total is now 216, and I had a few more sprouts today. The fun part, watching the little seedlings pop up, is really getting started now!

I planted 32 more containers for zone 5. My new total is 318

I am only a measly 14 containers this year ... zone 8.

Good morning, winter sowers - at least it's morning here in the US, although in the EU it is already afternoon, so Good afternoon to European winter sowers. Welcome to the 2012-13 count, SandyTowes, Marshallkey, Harborrose, and Silverkelt! SandyTowes, sorry to hear you still have lots of snow. Zone 4'ers are hardy! Harborrose, there are no measly containers in winter-sowing - "every container is important" - haha.

I was away visiting elderly parents this past week, came back to almost all the snow melted. It's finally feeling a little Springy outside. If I don't post tomorrow, Happy Easter everybody!
