The Official 2009/210 Container Count-part six

Posted by brandymulvaine (My Page) on

Please post here AFTER the other thread is full!!

The "rules"

Please post only NEW containers and not a running total.
Example: If your 1st post is 30 containers and you later sow another 30 containers your 2nd post should reflect only the additional 30 containers.
You can post your total as long as you indicate the number of new containers.
Example: "Zone 5 : Add 30 more containers for me. My total is now 60. "

Remember to add your zone to each post so we can see totals by zone.

I will update the totals on a regular basis and start a new post as needed.

Thanks!!

 o
RE: The Official 2009/210 Container Count-part six

3 today for z5.

Brandy, that is an awful lot of extra work for you, but it's fun to see the counts and progress.

Is there any particular reason we're doing this? I mean I don't like to think we're in some competition here. The grand prize is what we get.

It's probably skewed some because more members from some zones, and other zones aren't as conducive to WS'ing as the ones that are obviously way ahead.

 o

2 more for Zone 6.

Zone 5 Please add 12 more.

My total so far is 64. I planted the hardy annuals, and will wait just a bit longer to plant the heat loving annuals. Just a precaution I take in my little microclimate.

No sign of anything green yet in any of my containers, but we're having pretty good melt off a little earlier than usual this year. Mild winter since most of the weather went south of us.

RE: The Official 2009/210 Container Count-part six

Mary to answer your question "Why does zone four have lower numbers?" They might start later than other zones since it's colder for longer also zone 4 may be smaller, or have fewer people than zone 5(which takes a larger populated area than most other zones..I think!!)

The count for the 9th of Mar
zone 4-1018(broke a thousand!)
zone 5-5412
zone 6-4871
zone 7-3493
zone 8-1849
zone 9-274
