| This is the fourth thread in the official Winter Sowing Container Count (affectionately known as Zone Wars).
The count runs from Dec 22, 2011 - May 1, 2012 Everyone is welcome to participate! To participate you simply post on this thread the number of containers you have wintersown. You can post daily, weekly, etc. Each time you post, please include your total count so far. For example:

How to List your Zone:
If your member page does not list a zone, you must include the zone in your post. For example: If your member pages lists you on the border of 2 zones (such as 7b/8a) you need to decide which team to join for Zone Wars, and include it in your post. Or you can revise your member page and put 7b from now until May 1. Then after May 1 change it back to 7b/8a. To see the latest count, click on the Container Count / Zone Wars Spreadsheet. To see previous Container Count threads, click on this list of Zone Wars Threads prepared by River_crossroads. 
Everyone who is winter sowing is encouraged to participate.

| 22 more for Zone 8 with my total now 84. I am running out of milk jugs so I will likely have to slow down soon. We had bags of them saved under the house, but very few of them left now. |

Thanks to free seeds for newbies (ymaddox and bakemom you are awesome!), I'm in the fight (for a very good cause)!! | Hey guys! Been a while since I've posted, been as busy as a bee with all my sprouts!!!! Anyways, since my last post I have done 69 more containers for a grand total of 345 with many, many more tender annuals to do. February flew by, so many of those are going to have to wait until next year as March is here and I'm ready to start my veggies and herbs! Total: 345 (Zone 7) |

| I planted 46 more containers today for a total of 294. Zone 7b. I am done except for some gaura seeds that someone is sending me. I am not even looking at seeds in the store - it's going to take divine intervention for me to get everything that I winter sowed all planted out this year. I just envision how nice the flowers will all look when they get growing. |

| Another 18 done - total 363 Zone 7! I have ran out of containers, and since my area has now made it a crime to take from recycling bins; I am re-using 1-3 gallon pots from a local landscape company (they were happy to give me all I want and in return I will supply some veggies for their home garden :). I cut plastic squares to go on top and use paper clips to hold down the 4 sides and then slit the corners and tape those down with a few slits in the top for ventilation. Anxious to see how these do - as I am using compost for the bottom 3/4 and then Pro Mix on top to help the little seeds germinate. Will keep you posted - wow, these can hold a lot of seeds.... Might end up using this more often! |

| 6 more for zone 5, giving me a total of 102. If it weren't for doing my mother in law's yard as well as my own, I could never hope to do so many. I have a small city lot, but she has a bigger wooded lot so I get the best of both worlds! No sprouts yet, but it's going to get a lot warmer this week so I'll be checking them daily. Or more likely several times a day. |
