wish I'd seen them before I ordered them. oh well..
I did finally break down an order one, should make seed sowing of the tiny ones easier.
I never did get the hang of sand and other techniques that have been mentioneod.

I bought one from burpee last year and never used it. Maybe I'll get it out and try WSing with it :)

doris-
:)

that wouldn't be any fun.

Now.. if they would send weeders that would be ok.

I really love this seed-sower- has made my life much easier.

I've been looking for one, so thanks for the info. Was about to order online, but I think I'll take a trip to HD and save the postage. Wonder if Lowes has them, since my Lowes is much closer than HD.

Just picked one up at HD for $1.97 - here's a link for the exact one online - it has different size holes for dispensing different size seeds. They also had nylon trellis netting for $4.97 5 by 15 feet. Is that a good price?

Here is a link that might be useful: Seed Sower

I did use one of these for years when I was sowing for seedlings under lights, but now that I am a straight "WSing" gal, I never use it. Open that jug, plop in the promix, open the seed packet, randomly sprinkle all around!

Can say that I had tried lots of weird and different seed sowers (had one with a blub like a turkey baster at the end once, can't even remember how that worked)and this one is great cause you can set it easily for different sized seeds. But when WSING in containers, it's really not needed. No ned to control the spacing if you are planting our early enough. You can break up bunches of seedling "carpet" and HOS right into the ground.

depends on your seeding method.

I like to know how many I sowed.

I also tend not to "thin" because I hate to pull up any sprout. So the seed-sower avoides the necessity to thin.

I love it!
