I have never seen so much snow. Hope my babies will be fine under all that snow. There are somewhere there...
This "baby" is doing fine...
Driveway is one thing but the cul de sac will not be plowed until Friday...
Apparently, groundhog didn't see the shadow. Looking through the window it is difficult to believe that spring will come soon.

Looks like my place last year during "Snowmageddon 2010". 2 20+ inch storms right on top of each other. We haven't had a monster yet, they keep bypassing us and hitting further east. We had 2 days of ice storms from this one. I feel for you on the cul de sac being very last priority on the snow plow routes. That's why I bought a Jeep! Looks like you've got it covered with the snow blower though. Hunker down and enjoy the snow days!

:O I am so happy you posted pictures of this!! I seriously have been wondering how people have been fairing after that monster storm!! As far as that much snow, my mind still doesn't comprehend it!! I have never seen that much snow other than the pictures you all post on here. That is incredible!! What do you do when your street isn't plowed?? I mean a car can't get through that can it?? Do you all have big 4 wheel drive trucks?? What about those that work?? Oh me, I seriously have no idea about snow like that!! I sure hope more post pictures of this after effects of this storm!! Stay safe and warm!! I will cross my fingers Phil is correct!!

We do have 4 wheelers. My husband just got out to buy more gas for the snowblower. Apparently, he got stuck a few times but made it safe home. According to him, it is "horrible". My son (on pictures)is snowblowing the neighbours' walkways and driveways. We'll be fine and I'm sure, my jags we'll be fine. The most important, we are so lucky, didn't loose the power.

We do what we can. My fiance tried to get to work, but got stuck in his driveway. He called work and was told to stay home. His factory didn't have enough people and they weren't going to be able to get parts in to build anyway. I'm a Hospice physician. We're just seeing patients with emergencies. It's really not safe to go out. If you get stuck, the wind chill is dangerous, so you shouldn't even try to walk anywhere. Everyone should just stay home! It's dangerous for rescuers to have to get to the people who did go out on the roads and got into trouble. Martha

Adamark...what state are you in, to have that much snow? I know a lot of the states have been hit hard this month. Looks much like what we got hit with last year this time..55 in. over a 24 hr. period. Last week, we only got about 10 inches, but it was a wet and heavy snow that pulled trees down onto powerlines. No school for 3 days and many people didn't have power for 3 or more days. That's in Washington, DC/Md/Northern Virginia area.

I'm in west subs of Chicago. School close tomorrow as well. Again, we are very lucky, didn't loose the power.

We got about 2 feet last night,on top of what we already have. The wind was 40-50 miles per hour, snowing like crazy, with lightening and thunder, can you believe that! Our drive way is 2,011 feet long, hubby could not even move the snow, there was so much of it,and it was Heavy,a friend came over with his monster plow, and he got stuck, slid right off the lane, into a snow bank(mountain)took over an hour to get him out, what a day this has been. We all need spring, bad! cAROL |

We got slammed this year! I feel for you all. It's finally raining here some of it washing away, but making the roads very dangerous at night. As for those groundhogs, they look like some well kept pets! But soon well be hollering "Air Conditioner!" Carolyn, did any more of your babies pop-up?

I guess we were lucky here in northern CT--today's storm only added another 10 inches on top of the 4-5 ft. already on the ground. I keep taking pictures but since there's a new storm every couple of days, they're out of date before I can download them from the camera. I took more today but until I know there isn't another storm in the forecast for at least 48 hours, there is no point in posting them. I WS a couple containers today and set them in the snow off the back of my breezeway. The snow is at least a foot HIGHER than the level of my breezeway so it was easy enough to set the jugs down into the snow. My opinion of La Nina isn't fit for public view, not to mention whoever gave her that name should be drawn, quartered, then taken out and SHOT. Did I mention I love gardening?

Well as of the day before yesterday, (it was to cold today for my tail to check closely) I have the virginia stock, marojam, mammoth dill, and lupinus perennis all germinated. I will check this weekend a little closer and see if anything else has sprouted. It is suppose to get back in the mid 40's!! Gardenweed, I still would love to see your pictures, keep them coming!! We have been having flurries all day, when I first noticed it, there was actually a dusting on the grass. Then about 30 minutes later it was already gone!! LOL gotta love tennessee weather!!

Here in southeastern/central Indiana we have over an inch (I'm thinking 2 but trying not to exaggerate, some are saying 3) of ice on the ground. It's solid. it doesn't crunch, even on my grass. It's like walking on a frozen lake--some people are ice skating down their paved roads... We haven't had school since Monday. I'm concerned where all the water is going to go when it starts to melt (because it's going to melt from top down, and it's waterproof!)...I think it's all going to go into people's basements...gross.

We are getting BURIED here in most of New England. We've had five major storms since Christmas and numerous smaller ones. It's also been quite cold and there hasn't been much melting in between storms. Everywhere you drive around here, it's the same story, huge mounds of snow, roads getting narrower and narrower, and the driving is hazardous. No place to put the snow anymore. The amount of snow building up on roofs along with the icicles and ice dams are unbelievable. There is a new leak in the kitchen as of yesterday morning because of ice dams. Arggghhhh!!

If NYC snow looked like yours, adamark, I'd be a happy camper! I know it can be a huge PITA, but it's so pretty! We've had one after the other after the other here since Christmas - have literally been held hostage at home for 4 days in the last month because public transport has not been available and streets were not cleared. Bummer. And I've had my two first ever falls in the snow since I've been in this city. The "I've fallen and I can't get up" kind. Thank heavens for passersby, or they'd find my body in a yucky city snowbank come Spring! And I've only WSed one container! PV
