Wow it is hard to resist sowing more

I am trying to take it easy this year. I sowed 29 containers this weekend and all my perenial seeds and cold hardy ones are gone.

I am resisting the urge to order some more. I keep thinking maybe I should get some alyssum or more creeping thyme or some interesting rudbeckia's or something new? I could use some more pink and white flowers...

HELP

I am trying to resist but I think I might be going crazy for more seeds!!!

Karen

We need a 12 step program.

I tried being careful not to get too many seeds but now I am in seed withdrawl. My seed boxes are so bare it almost hurts...

I may vist cheap seeds before the day is over and at least not spend much $$

I am browsing T&M right now lol

RE: Wow it is hard to resist sowing more

Karen - you're welcome to some of my "stash" since I could WS over a thousand jugs if I kept going--I have THAT MANY seeds. Send a BEAP and I'll stuff it with perennial seeds. Not everything in my seed stash is listed on my trade page because I wasn't ready to give some away until I was sure I had enough for my own needs. Now I know I could put together a few dozen newbie packs and not miss any of them!

If you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a list of what I've got extras of. I know I have plenty of Shasta daisy, hollyhock, blackberry lily, rudbeckia, dianthus, penstemon, hosta, astilbe and a few others.

don't worry about the bubble mailer - I have some. Just 4 stamps and a mailing label should do it.

"I won't, I won't, I won't..."
Keys are in hand, "I think I need to go to Lowes to see if they have Seeds?"

ladyrose65, that one made me laugh :)

Thanks to my enablers bakemom and garden weed. I have sent email to both of you.

thanks also for the bubble mailer too bakemom. I only could find one so far. I was going to buy one more tomorrow.

I am so excited. the dirt I have in the garage will get some use!

I just love WS'ing and this place everyone is so nice. Last year I shared a bunch of seeds because I did not want them to go to waste. (plus it was some stuff I could not grow in my zone)

WS people are the best!

not resisting anymore

I decided I am not resisting anymore.

If sowing seeds makes me happy then I will sow them :)

Thanks to the ladies that offered me seeds. This year I am not getting a salary (student teaching) and my hubby would have been mad if I spent a lot on seeds.

Gardenweed, will you have any left to share after Karen? This is my first year and I would love to have a few things you have. I have a bubble mailer that I can reuse from a very gererous trade (gift) from pipi. You have many things I do not yet have. So sad that I feel that I must have that, and that and that, and oh yeah I need that too... HELP!

Reality is starting to set in as germination occurs and I am having a hard time sowing more. I think my eyes are bigger than my yard, my sisters and my parents, lol.

Oops!!

RE: Wow it is hard to resist sowing more

...WS is better than other addictions...
1. doesn't hurt your liver.
2. won't give you lung cancer.
3. won't make you fat - in fact may make you trim.
4. doesn't lead you to rob someone to feed your addiction
(well- as long as we provide seeds to those who need them.)
5. won't pump your adrenaline too much. (thrill addiction)
6. won't hurt your eyes (computer addiction)

However,
1. may cause you to lie to your family and hide seed packages around the house, for fear of running out.
2. may cause you to lie to your friends and claim "I'm not WS'ing any more" when in your heart, you know you're not done.

All in all - this is a positive addiction. :)

RE: Wow it is hard to resist sowing more

I am about finished as I am running out of space to hide my jugs. No more after Monday..this is very addictive.

 o
RE: Wow it is hard to resist sowing more

Ellen, that was funny....I hide seeds all the time. Sounds bad. I got a pack of dill seeds at the grocery store. They were just calling my name. I left them in my purse and then sowed them real quick!

Pippi, the space for the jugs is a problem for me. I started just putting them where I plan to plant them later. This way I have less walking around when planting time comes.

I always worry my HOA is going to get mad at me for my containers....
