A blizzard went through here today, my poor little 2 liter bottles are under about 2 feet of snow as we speak!

Mine are now under 4-5 ft. of snow with another 5-8 inches of snow/sleet/freezing rain coming tomorrow. I'm not one bit worried that when it's all melted away they'll be right where I left them. You've done your part; now let Mother Nature do hers. She's been at it a few years longer than the rest of us. Last year we had very little snow--I guess this year it's payback time. My containers were never completely covered last year and they all sprouted like crazy. I expect I'll have similar results this year. I'm just going to have to wait a little longer to see them.

It IS weird, which is one reason most folks don't think winter sowing actually works. My neighbor went dumpster diving and brought me truckloads of milk jugs last winter, laughing the whole time at what I was using them for. By the end of March he'd stopped laughing. This year he gave me seeds from apple and pear trees and asked me to WS them for him. I sowed them on the solstice.
