| I agree all those should be just fine. I'm in z5 too. I have sown salvia, portulaca, lupine and poppy mallow before here. |

| I did portulaca last year. It was among the last to sprout for me, to the point that I was almost ready to dump the container. But it finally came up and did great. |

| I've never WS portulaca, since this is my first year. But last year I started some seeds in May, in an old 6 pack, on my deck with amazing germination. I also threw some seeds on a big mound of dirt, and they germinated as well. I saved a huge container of seed, since each pod has what, 3000 seeds in it. I don't know whether I'm going to grow them this year, because some of the other annuals I bought seed for have better staying power flower wise. I'm going to have to dig new beds anyway for all the perennials I'm sowing. :) |
