is it too late to wintersow?

I just now got my seed starter and we've had a few crazy warm days. If I sow my seeds tomorrow night - when it's supposed to get back to more normal weather - will they still have time to get all the coldness?freezes? they need? Or? Thanks from a barley-clued-in newbie.

It's fine, you can still WS. As long as you need to wear a sweater and scarf at night to feel comfortable you can keep winter sowing.

I think it is never too late as long as before your last frost date

thanks, all! you guys are great. *really* appreciate the go-ahead input. for some reason I didn't get an email saying anyone had replied to my thread. hmmm... novice forum user as well as novice gardener, lol.

I drilled holes in my milk jugs and will sow tonight :) sort of can't believe I'm doing this for many reasons. I'm SUCH a novice gardener; have mostly only planted plants from a nursery. but hey, they're just seeds, and they're just plants, and I'm trying to give them an environment in which I think they'll grow. we'll see!!

AnnieSM - welcome to the winter sowing forum and all the magic WS gives back in exchange for a few recycled containers and some growing mix. They're more than just seeds--they are tiny powerhouses bursting with life, form, texture, color & often fragrance as well.

Be sure to post again with pictures of your sprouts!!!

I sure hope not - I'm in the same zone as you, albeit in New Mexido, and I just got mine done on Monday.

I just sorted my seeds and washed my containers. But then we have a winter storm watch brewing for next week...new snow to toss on top of my containers once I get them out there. And, we usually get a pretty good dumping at the end of March, so there's plenty of time in this neck of the woods.
