I went out this morning and my six lettuce containers have sprouted - that's six out of 29 in my smaller containers.

I'm thinking my alyssum will be next.

What do YOU have sprouting?

I found primula alpicola coming up this morning - now what to do with them. They can be violet, yellow, white and I'd wanted to plant in groups of one color so that would mean growing them on until bloom before planting :(

Here is a link that might be useful: Plant World Seeds primula alpicola

I'll let you know when it warms up. It's too freaking cold to go out and see, and snowing, too :-(

I've only done 9 jugs so far and about half have started sprouting. I do have to sow more soon, including alyssum.

Nothing yet(still snow covered), but I may just have to put some lettuce seeds out...the local grocer is charging $2.79 for a small head(Dole).

I did not winter sow lettuce this year. I planted some inside in a container. I sowed them Sunday and had sprouts as of yesterday. Tiny! I am just looking forward to home grown lettuce considering lettuce is over 4$ a head now.

Ditto what gardenunusual said--congrats to all who have sprouts! Nothing here yet either but I'm celebrating with all of you lucky sprout-ees. Snow & ice finally melted and I can once again see ALL the jugs in my container ghetto. It's on my east-west breezeway so I expect sprouts later than other folks who's containers get some sun. Eager as I am to see green, I can wait. I won't go so far as to say PATIENTLY, but I can wait.

Gardenweed-I saw my jugs jugs BRIEFLY on Thurs. (no green sprouts) Then we got another 10" OF SNOW!! They are buried again. (sigh) I did enjoy my stroll through my yard on Thurs in between rain drops. Saw some dafs just barely popping up so I know spring is coming.

My foxglove which was really teeny, is becoming more robust. Lettuce and arugala taking off. Gaillardia growing, but only about one half of the seeds sprouted.

I wonder why?

Still waiting on Sage, Lavender, Sea Holly, more Gaillardia, hollyhock, rudbeckia.

More to sow - double red poppy, more gaillardia, more lettuce, arugala, more lavender. Soon will be time to sow the annuals.
So little time, so much to sow!
