Can you WS okra and Eggplant? or they are better off sowing directly? I know they say you need to start eggplants indoors like tomatoes so I don't see why eggplants couldn't be WS. It is better to ask as you never know.

I WS eggplant last year. It sprouted, but then just didn't grow. Maybe I needed to repot them earlier, I don't know, but I wound up buying a couple of plants from a local farmer.

Okra is a hibiscus and it does very well with WS, eggplant does too, but they are late fruiters. In my zone seven garden, when I WS something like Black Beauty or Ghost I don't see very large fruits until middle August. If I do Early Long Purple eggplant, then I get long ripe fruits by the end of July--btw, they are wonderful grilled.

When you WS veggies, you still have to pay some mind to the DTMs. Shortest DTMs will be needed for zones five and colder.
