Wintersowing with Preschoolers

This morning, I had the pleasure of wintersowing with my daughter's preschool class.
I learned a few things that I thought I would share.
* Do as much of the prep work ahead of time as possible.
Cut windows, and put drainage holes in jugs at home.
Put potting mix in a large plastic bin, and water till moist, but not dripping. Used a slotted spoon for less mess.
Have instruction sheet (for parents) ready to attach to jug. Should have precut the ribbon, and prepunched the holes!
* Give them the instructions, BEFORE you hand them the seeds : )
* Don't let 4 year olds try to write their name on a milk jug with a paint pen.
Here are a couple pictures of the finished project:

Even though I did it as a project with the kids, the parents asked lots of questions about the method after class. I think it was a success!
