How can I tell it's Spring?

The temperature is hovering just a couple degrees above freezing, there's an arctic wind that cuts right through multiple layers of polar fleece and it snowed overnight. All the same...

Nearly all the perennials I WS & planted out last year have sent up new growth even though on many it's still so tiny I can't get decent photos. Agastache, lady's mantle, false indigo, perennial bachelor button, cushion spurge, coneflower, geum and several others have new growth pushing up through the soil and blanket of winter leaves. Now they're up, I can relax and stop worrying whether they survived the winter. Still have my fingers crossed the Gaura lindheimeri/wandflower survived but so far there's no sign of it. I've got plenty of it WS again just in case.

So, what has everyone else found coming up again?
