| The temperature is hovering just a couple degrees above freezing, there's an arctic wind that cuts right through multiple layers of polar fleece and it snowed overnight. All the same...
New growth on WS delphinium
New growth on WS Montauk daisy
New growth on WS painted daisy
Snowdrops in bloom
Nearly all the perennials I WS & planted out last year have sent up new growth even though on many it's still so tiny I can't get decent photos. Agastache, lady's mantle, false indigo, perennial bachelor button, cushion spurge, coneflower, geum and several others have new growth pushing up through the soil and blanket of winter leaves. Now they're up, I can relax and stop worrying whether they survived the winter. Still have my fingers crossed the Gaura lindheimeri/wandflower survived but so far there's no sign of it. I've got plenty of it WS again just in case. So, what has everyone else found coming up again? |
Follow-Up Postings:

| I've got all sorts of stuff coming up. It's year three for a lot of the perennials, year two for a few of them. There is green everywhere in the garden. I couldn't even begin to list all of what's out there. It's going to be an amazing Summer! Lynda |

| Great pictures as always Eileen,I have things coming up as well, but I can not tell you what they are, I did not mark any thing,so it will be a big surprise. Spring is here. cAROL |

| I saw my first Cal poppy, not the flower yet but the plant. I expect to be inundated with them. Agastache is coming up. Now spring seems to have left, temporarily, as it is forecast to be in the '40's til next Thursday! :< |

| Enough snow has melted that I saw patches of green in my gardens a few days ago. Expect much of it was still green from last fall and there was still too much snow and lawn too wet to go looking. Today everything is white again, under 6 inches of new snow. I looked out the office window on the east side of the house where the snow melts first and saw daffodil and tulip foliage popping up. |

| Birds singing in the early morning is a sure sign of spring here. |

| I planted 120 white crocus last fall, and their leaf tips are coming up now. For blooms, I have one lone purple crocus, and one brave snowdrop that wanted to go first. My WS seeds are more sensible and haven't started to sprout yet. I checked a few minutes ago, just in case. :-) Edie |
