may be off topic, but a story of plants overcoming the odds, so perhaps appropriate and very cool besides LOL.

last spring i bought some clearance tulip bulbs, potted them up,and when i discovered the leaves rotting off and the bulbs getting mushy i just dumped the pots over and forgot about them, figuring they would get eaten or washed away or something equally destructive. i went out today to see what was going on in the perennial beds, and much to my surprise discovered tulip leaves popping up in the middle of a thicket of sticks next to the creek. i gathered up the bulbs, as there's no way they could actually survive there unplanted, and came up with about 75 bulbs! i have no memory of what they look like, and some of them were teeny tiny, but i'll put them in a bed somewhere and see what happens. little suckers were determined to live!
