I WS lots of new perennials last year either from seeds I harvested from my own plants or from traded seeds. It was my first attempt at winter sowing and am happy to report many of them have come through the winter with flying colors. Here's what's sent up new growth so far:
Agastache rupestris/sunset hyssop
Alchemilla mollis/lady's mantle
Aquilegia/columbine
Baptisia australis/false indigo
Echinacea/coneflower
Iberis/candytuft
Nipponanthemum nipponicum/Montauk daisy
Tanacetum pyrethrum/painted daisy
Lupine
Trollius ledebourii/globeflower
Monarda didyma/bee balm
Rudbeckia hirta/gloriosa daisy
Euphorbia polychroma/cushion spurge
I want to say thanks to trudi and all the folks on this forum for their words of encouragement, support & advice as well as their shared joy in my winter sowing successes. At this rate, the day may actually come when I post pictures of my flowerbeds rather than/in addition to individual blooms.
A few of last year's favorites (not ALL WS):
