Well, it looks like my hollyhocks are doing pretty good.

Do you think I'll get more?

Yes, I do think you will get more of all your seedlings. Hollyhocks (for me) are particularly sporatic in their germination - over a period of weeks.

This time of year is often the hardest for us WSers - the waiting. I am keeping myself busy next weekend potting up dalhia tubers to get them started as "staring down the spouts of the milk jugs" seems not to make them germinate or grow any faster!!!

Closed tops might increase humidity and improve germination. However you'll have to limit afternoon sun exposure if weather is hot.

What kind of potting soil did you use? It looks so chunky.

My hollyhocks started germinating about 2 weeks ago and since then about 1/3 have germinated. The seed packet was 2 years old and I found it in my basement so I wasn't expecting a good turn out, if these 15 little guys survive I'll be so happy!

I have noticed that they have germinated rather erratically so maybe we'll both get more!
