I have planted three cups of these so far, and it appears germination is at least 80%. I am super excited about these and since I have to collect every seed I can, I will likely have a ridiculous amount of dahlias seeds come next year. I still have half of a No. 10 envelope full yet. The seeds are even from 2009. |

| Wow!! Those are some healthy-looking sprouts! Congratulations on the great germination. I've only ever grown dahlias from bare-root dormant plants. Will they bloom first year from seed? Do you think you'll be looking to offer any of the seeds for trade when the time comes? |

| I've read here that they will bloom the first year, so that's what I'm hoping for. I ancitipate I'll have seeds to offer, yes. |

| They are not perennial in my zone 5. You have to dig up and store the tubers. I don't know about zone 6. |

I have never tryed to grow Dahlis seeds, for the very reason, I did not think you could grow them from seed. Now, will you still have to dig them in the fall? Beautiful sprouts,I may have to give these a try next year, thaks for showing. cAROL |
