what blooms the first year

Could you tell me which flowers will bloom their first year or which ones will not. I've sown delphiniums, shastas, creeping thyme, poppies, rose campion, coneflower, alyssum, aster, balloon flower, bellflower, pansies,bachelor buttons, agastache, and lavendar. Thanks!

Out of your list, alyssum, pansies, bachelor buttons and agastache (depeneds on what type) should all bloom this year, besides the pansy (which can last several years depending on location, water content of soil, temps ect)

The rest depends on wether you sowed the annual version (like the asters or poppies) or the perrenial versions, they will take 2-3 years to get going.

Wow! Great pics, thanks! I forgot about the poppies being annuals, the rest were perennials. I did sow many more annuals so that i'd have color this year. That dark purple poppy you have is awesome, i may have to get me one of those. :p

As for blooming the first year, annuals now, perennials for later.

What is the name of that dark plum colored poppy? That is beautiful! Gotta have some of those! Patty's plum poppy?
