16 more containers sown for zone 5 making my total 51 . Not even half of my jugs that I saved from last year . I have lots more seed but no more potting soil.

10 more containers for zone 5 (75 total).

Hola, winter sowers. Kiskin you have been on a roll this week. Zone 5 still seems quite active and has pulled further ahead and remains the leader in the count. Only 10 days left in the count! C'mon zone 6 get some sowing in!

This reminds me I still have some daylily seeds from last year to sow. Not sure if they will still sprout.

6 more for zone 5 for a running total of 65. I have more containers prepped and filled for more sowing today and I found Promix at my local hardware/garden center, so bought 2 bales. Now, if the weather would only warm up so I could have some green showing, I would be much happier.

111 more containers in Z 4 for a total for me of 166 pots. Finally temps above 40s expected this weekend. Will start my annuals then.

Did 33 containers today to bring me to 343 for zone 5. Big push to get all of the annuals done next weekend!

I have a total of 193 for zone 6. Put some annuals and peas out today.

18 more for zone 5. My total is 148

11 more containers for me for a total of 127.

21 more milk jugs for me in zone 5 so my total is 72

Another 22 containers today for zone 5, brings my total to 365. Still have quite a few to sow on Sunday.....

Well it looks like zone 5 has a solid lead, even though I'm in zone 5 and thrilled to win, it's kind of boring when zone 5 holds the lead through the whole count...any big zone 6 or 7 numbers out there? 3 more days left in the count!

A little OT but Silverkelt, I only have a small veggie garden this house (little full sun), and never thought to WS lettuce or spinach with HOS. I've always direct sown lettuce. What a great idea though - is it too late to WS now?

Another 40 containers between yesterday and this evening and I AM DONE!!! Didn't get all of the annuals done in time but won't get to them tomorrow, either! That takes my total to 405 for zone 5 and I'm finally seeing a couple of tiny sprouts on some agastaches and tall verbena, just in time for tomorrow night's snow storm....think I'll move the sprouted ones in to the portable greenhouse I set up on the deck, don't want to lose these like the ones at the beginning of the month...

5 more for me please, in zone 6. That will probably be it.

Boy, I'm getting lousy germination this year...

Okay, 15 more today and I really, REALLY am done this time! That makes my total 420 zone 5 for the season and I'm finally seeing a few sprouts! Have agastache, hyssop, Rocky Mtn blue penstemon, a 2nd type of penstemon, tall verbena, blue boy bachelor buttons and 2 different colors of annual asters. All 8 went into a temp greenhouse--not going to lose these to tonight/tomorrow's cold weather and snow!

11 more containers for a final total of 143.

These last containers were mostly daylilies with one container of Mesclun mix.

Can we still count containers today? Not that it will make any difference in the scheme of things. But, it might motivate me to get a few more containers done. Or, maybe I should just start direct sowing some annual seeds. Decisions, decisions. Happy growing.

No longer in Eastern WA, but zone 5 central Idaho.....

My total number containers planted since 10/24 thru 4/30 is: 21

So very "light" for me...but running out of seeds! Wasn't able to do any trading since fall 2010....yikes :(
