Is anyone else having problems veiwing the forums on Garden Web? All of a sudden yesterday whenever the Ads on the right show up, I lose my scroll bar, unless I catch it before the ad shows, I cannot see the topics.

Does anyone know of a solution? This is really frustrating!

I use Firefox, no ads, no problem. Firefox is a free download.

I've been having that problem, sporadically, for quite a while now.

It's a PITA, but I just reload the page and all is OK.

Actually, there are quite a few things about GW that are beginning to really get on my nerves.

RE: help!

I've had that problem occasionally, and it is a pain!

I do like PV and reload and then it is ok.

I also have problems with GW which is that this site is MUCH slower than any other place I visit. Probably bec. all the ads. I know there is a way to get rid of the ads, but it is something I have to have my computer guy do.

Like now, when I will click to "preview message" I will take a break and come back to the computer and then click on "post" and take another break and come back to continue reading messages.

Gosh, I must like this forum a lot or I wouldn't go thru this! :)

RE: help!

Thanks, I think I figured it out. Reloading the page did NOT work. But I found if I go into my IE tools and disable the flash add-on, I can read garden web. Of course then if I want to veiw a page that has flash I have to go back into tools and enable it again. It's a pain, but now I can read my favorite forums again.

RE: help!

Jennie,
I have IE too-
if I disable the flash-on, do you know if that will have any effect?
I don;t know what flash nadd on is, so I don't know if I will have a negative effect.

thanks,
ellen

RE: help!

Ellen, if you go to the tools tab at the top of your IE page, in the drop down box there is one that says "manage add ons". When you click on that there will be a list of add ons and whether they are enabled or disabled, and you can disable the Adobe Flash add on. This is what worked for me.
BUT you have to remember to turn it back on if you want to watch some videos.
