Poll Q, a couple of Q's and sad about weather prediction.

On accuweather it says my area will be getting down to 33 degrees (the low) on April 16. I was hoping to get away with planting stuff out now!

By the way, how big do you wait for your seedlings to get?

I've always separated out, but I'm curious about this "hunk o'seedlings" method. What ends up happening in the ground? Do the plants fight it out and the strongest wins? Or do you have to thin out eventually.

Also, what is your go-to filler plant for bare spots?

Thanks!

At least a couple of sets of true leaves.

I plant hunks and I really don't thin. Maybe a few die off but most seem to continue to grow and grow.

My go-to filler is whatever is volunteering in my yard. So often melampodium, coral nymph salvia, rud hirta. Basically whatever pops up.

Today, I just did my First Hunk-O-Seedling? I would like to see Trudi, put out a video on this. It's kind of hard, esp. when you got a seed mix, and you want all the colors you can get.
