Should I be concerned?

I had some problem with my soil not draining and solidifying, forum members directed me to get potting mix and not any other garden soil. So I planted some tomato seeds 2 weeks ago after we had that warm spell in north east. Shouldn't my seeds have sprouted by now? granted we have had some cold weather in last few days. You would think with 50-60 degree days and seeds being in containers, they should sprout.

Whats your night time temps? Its been fairly cold here after that week warm up, and we are getting sparodic frosts even.

They will sprout once the night time temps go up some.

Right now, I only have lettuce and pansies sprouted. Its still fairly early, I think I usually get toms by the end of april, so for you another two weeks probably.

You have a good point, night temps are still in 30-40s so still low.

I wouldn't be concerned. I am in zone 7b - probably warmer than where you are at - and the tomatoes that I sowed on March 6 are just starting to sprout. Out of 30 planted that day I have about half a dozen sprouts. This is my first time winter sowing tomatoes although I have winter sowed lots of other things over the last few years.

I planted my tomatoes in Feb. and they sprouted during the week we had 60-70 temps in early March, but they're a good month ahead of when they usually sprout and I've had to cover them at night recently as the temps have dipped into the 20s.

I wouldn't be concerned about them yet since you probably didn't get them out until the more seasonable weather arrived. I'd guess late April, early May is when yours will sprout. Mid-April is more normal for us here is SE PA. Unless they have long DTM they'll catch up once you plant out.
