| I know salvia need warm weather to germinate. I WS these every year. I've learned through Trudi's sharings and trial & error that there is no great advantage to having things sprout too early. When Mother Nature decides it's time, then and only then is the time right. Many folks on this forum are in different zones. Like you, I'm in 6b and many of mine are not showing green yet. One year I had early sprouts and some froze. Now I know to wait and be patient. Good luck! |

| I'm getting early sprouts and I wish I weren't. It's too cold here. They're just sitting there and not growing. You may not have many little ones, but what you have look good. |

| Thank You all. I was getting anxious that the seeds washed down, particularly, cleome and Nicotiana. Patience is a true virture. |
|
| Mine are very slow this year compared to last year. But this is a cold and wet and snowy "spring". Maybe do what I did - I bought some pansies and now I have something beautiful to look at while I wait. |
|
| I'm not sure if you're talking about perennial or annual salvia? I sowed some perennial salvia and they started sprouting weeks ago. I haven't even sown my annual ones yet. I'm in zone 6 too. Karen |

| Kqcma, all mine are annuals. Merlau Blue, New Dimensions, Farcinea, and Lady in Red. I WS them all. Today, I found 4 tiny sprouts of the Farcinea. |
|
| Hurray for Farcinea! I have annual red salvia, I'll sow it soon. |
|
| Ladyrose, I sowed Merleau Blue, too. It's supposed to be perennial, hardy to zone 4. Karen |
Here is a link that might be useful: Merleau Blue

| I was shocked today when I went out for the first time to see what perennials (in the ground) were sprouting and to my surprise, a container of Red Cardinal Flower that I had left out overwinter had sprouts in it!! Incredible as none of the WS containers for this year are even fully thawed. It was left in a full sun position. I am so proud I can say I have sprouts in April!!! |

| Congratulations! Northerner_0N. When I see someone from Canada, I think Roses. You have two famous rose nurseries from there. Pickering and Hortico. Do you grow roses as well? |
