Nice sprouts. My zinnias went out over the weekend and aren't up yet. Mine are just run-of-the-mill mixed colors and one container of Envy (green).

I have Envy zinnias too. I held them inside just until they germinated and then put the jugs outside. I'll keep an eye on any potential frosts and haul them back in if we have a hard frost coming through. Its kind of a hybrid or cheater WS, but this spring everything is just SO SLOW. Last year I had huge lettuce salads going already and this year the lettuce are all still dinky seedlings.

Ladyrose,
They are Red Man Giant Cantus Flowered. I got them from Crossmans. They sprouted in one week.
Are envy zinnias Green?

that sounds cool.

yes zinnias are tender. I covered mine in the cool nites, but now I believe we are out of danger of frost.

Wonder if things are slow this year not just because it was cooler, but because it was overcast most days? Some things need light to germinate and our winter was just gray and dreary.

My lettuce is starting to perk up after I put it in the ground a week ago -- it's almost doubled in size, but still has a way to go before I'm cutting for salads.
