| My first successful wintersown garden was 2005, in PA. I haven't had a good garden since then because of black walnut and other factors in our backyard. This year I'm growing everything in the front yard, and surprise, surprise! Out of 100+ seeds from my seed-trading days several years ago, I've got about 50+ hunk-o-seedlings so far (I didn't realize they would survive all the abuse that they've received in storage, in travel -- some even got a little damp and moldy!). I used those seedling-starter kits and they're growing well. Is it too early to plant the ones with true leaves out? Or should I wait until May and transfer them to pots first?
Thanks for any advice! |

| Seedlings with second set of real leaves that are perennial for your zone will be fine planted out (at least in terms of the weather - - -you may still have to watch for hard rain, digging cats, etc) but they won't be "too cold" Hardy annuals (things that reseed in your area) should be fine too. But I'm not rushing mine. They fit fine still in their containers and I just feel better planting them out (HOS) towards the end of April here. Annuals, wait till after your last frost date. |

| Thanks so much! Will wait :) Haven't had a decent garden in years don't want to mess it up this time. |
