| I just received my seed order from swallowtail.Is it to late to ws heliotrope.marine?I really want this plant.I am in North Ga.zone 7.Is there a list some where for cold requirements on seeds.I know on fags there is alist for zone 7 but most are natives..I have alot of seeds to sow but if it is too late for this winter,I will have to wait.

| Hi Moonphase, Heliotrope is perennial in zone 11 and warmer. Heliotrope is usually grown as an annual. I bet it will love your warm zone. You should be fine to sow it now. It can be slower to germinate, but I have sowed it in the spring (April/May) in my zone 5, and I have flowers by August. You might have speedier germination and growth with warmer climate. | I agree with Norabelle - treat it as a slow growing annual. I've tried it and have not liked waiting so long for the flowers (and their lovely scent) but I think with GA summer temps, you are going to get flowers a whole lot sooner. It loves sun and heat. |
