I'm transplating the Foxgloves, Campunula's and some greens! I'm groaning like Lurch! The Real Work Begins!

Have anyone else started transplanting? I'm def. giving away some to the neighbors!

Are you meaning planting out wintersown seedlings or are you transplanting established plants that have been in your flowerbeds all along? I know NJ is a lot colder than Md. and even though it was 82 degrees here, I think we need to hang the wintersown seedlings in those jugs a few more weeks if we can. If you feel you must plant your seedlings out, save the tops of the jugs to put over them to protect them from the cold. I read that if the daytime temperatures stay in the 60's for 7 days straight, then it would be safe to plant out. It could be 60's and above and temps drop at night to freezing again. Be cautious!

I have pulled out 10 containers that are going in the ground tomorrow afternoon. Snapdragon, Bachelor's Button and Sweet Pea's. I hope the Sweet Pea's aren't too big for their already uncomfortable transplant - hoping to spread instead of thin.. If we get another frost/freeze, it will be 1 and only 1 more - and I am weighin in that we aren't - in NC / Zone 7 as well. We may see in the 30's a night or 2, but these 3 should be fine - they have been topless for over 2 weeks. For these I would rather risk the weather, than the shocked growth...

All in all, I guess it would depend on what plants, and are you prepared to cover if need be.. Good Luck!! ~Sounds like you got some lucky neighbors!!! :)

Pippi21 and Ldsluder, I am spacing out/transplanting the Foxgloves and Campunula's into a more containers. They need spacing out. It's my first try at the 'Hunk-O-seedling' method.

Yes, we are far from freezing temps, here at night.
But, I am going to put the greens in a raised bed. They have been exposed to the cold with no tops/protection. They got grew larger.

It feels like 85 today, Air Conditioner, is def. openly, in my mind.
