| Hi Everyone,
This is my first time WSing for a few years. I sowed some 4 o'clocks this year - probably about mid-march. I haven't seen any sign of sprouts. A few weeks ago, a few popped up to the surface, and I thought they were sprouting, but nothing. I'm starting to think they may have rotted. I did have them on the north side of the house, so they haven't had too much warmth, but I'm getting other sprouts there. I moved them to the south side of the house two days ago to see if that helps, but I'm thinking after a whole month in the wet, they may be done for. I know, I know, I should give them time and see, but I have other seeds to sow and I need those containers if they aren't going to be doing anything - LOL! There are no free lunches around here this year when it comes to sowing seeds - I'm trying to go through the hoard I have acquired over the past few years. I'm in SE Pa, and I see others in my area are sprouting already. How much more time should I give them? |

| I have the same question as you. All my containers have germinated except my 4 o'clocks and my Stella d'oro daylilies. Oh, where are you, little sprouts? |

| I gave up and dug around in the containers today - they are definitely rotted - well the two I found anyway. Oh well - after reading more about them, I'm not sure I wanted to plant them anyway. I may try to start them now in warmer temps, though. |

| I don't know what zone, but I would wait until end of April for 4'oclock and Nasturiums. 4 o'clocks do best with compost or composted manure. I would DS them. |

| Thanks ladyrose. I always direct sow nasturtiums - I'll try that with 4 o'clocks too. |
|
| 4:00 needs light to germinate and they don't like cold. :) |

| Some of mine are rotted, others intact. No sprouts yet. |
|
| I poked around in my container of 4 o'clock seeds and saw one had sprouted so I left it alone. I'll just wait and see what happens with it. |
|
| Just an update: 3 of the 5 four o'clock seeds I had planted have sprouted. They all look good! Will DS some nasturtiums too, once I get some railing boxes for my porch. |
