I did that this year in my daffodil bed. No matter what I tried, none of the annuals I plant in there grow well in that bed. It gets very dry in the summer due to tree roots. So I sprinkled Shirley Poppy, Tidy Tips, Farewell-To-Spring, and Queen Anne's Thimbles seeds. I have lots of sprouts, but they aren't growing very fast because it's been too wet, cold, and cloudy this year. Go figure. Mother Nature always has to throw me curve ball every year to thwart my gardening plans.
