I winter sowed all my butterfly weed seed but I think they were to wet this spring. Only one or two sprouted. Does anyone have any extra butterfly weed seed. I am babying the one I have. Thanks.

Brian, I may be able to help you but can you please clarify: do you mean Buddleia or Asclepias? I have Asclepias incarnata 'Soulmate' seeds saved from my garden last year which you are welcome to have. I have only ever winter sowed these, so I am not sure if they need a cold period to germinate. Please send me an e-mail if you're interested.

I think I have A. tuberosa and A. incarnata seeds. That would be the orange butterfly weed and a pink/purple variety. Both need a full year of growth before they will bloom, but will feed Monarchs even as small sprouts. In fact, Monarchs seem to prefer to lay eggs on the smaller sprouts. Let me know if you still need seeds. Martha
