Farewell to Spring. Godetia, clarkia. Cool weather annual, full sun to part shade.

Better not be farewell to Spring, we haven't had any yet ;)

cAROL,

Also known as godetia and clarkia Amoena. They are usually in the pink shades, or burgundy shades, with an azalea type flower, very pretty and can grow, usually 1-3 feet. Depends on whether you have the "dwarf" or regular variety.

I've grown them in pots using miracle grow potting mix, in my beds in part shade.

Here's a pic of a pot of them from a few years ago. the farewell to spring godetia are the pink blooms in a couple of different shades. I've never had the burgundy shading ones.

Thank you,are they short bloomers? From the name, I am guessing, they only bloom in spring.
If I plant them in pots, will they die out midseason?
I just don't know what to do with them, lol

They will bloom from about late May into August here where summers are cool. Don't fertilize, or you'll get mostly foliage.... cool summers, average to poor soils.

I call it "Farewell To My Garden". Pretty flowers but it doesn't like it here - especially in really baking hot years.
