| Any idea what this seedling is or might be?
I have nothing like it growing anywhere else and it isn't something that I planted in the past or WS in the past. Fran |

| That looks like a very young Fallopia japonica, Japanese knotweed. -A dastardly, evil foe. |

| Japanese knotweed was what first popped into my head too but the red veins threw me off. Horribly invasive and virtually impossible to get rid of unless you have access to a flame thrower or Napalm. |

| OH, I was hoping for good news and this was a surprise "friend". The shovel will be out in the AM and it's getting dug out real quick and hubby will burn it for me. Don't want to just toss it somewhere or have it collected with the lawn refuse that is picked up by the trash men. Just in case though, I will keep my roundup posion ivy and brush spray handy. Only pesticide I ever use, but the poison ivy is not something I let go as too many family members have deadly severe reactions to it. Fran |

| I use vinegar to kill poison ivy, creeping charlie and other weeds. Works great and isn't toxic. Poured from a bowl with a lip, it goes just where I want/need it to go. |
