Those are so cute! I had a lot of white alyssum going, fear I've lost it. Your pics remind me what the seedlings look like so I'll watch for some. From my experience, the colored ones don't come back as volunteers like the whites do. So save the seeds if they perform well. They might cross but it could get interesting. I think alyssum can get crowded out early on. If it has room, it will take off and crowd other stuff out.

Where did you get seeds for alyssum?

livsauntieshel - those are SO pretty and you're gonna love the fragrance all season long. I grew alyssum last year and couldn't believe how tough they were given our serious, 4-month long drought. Just ran out of time and energy this year so the only annual I'm growing is an exotic looking double, ruffled, splashed-with-color California poppy called Thai Silk Appleblossom Bush. It's a stunner but won't have the lovely fragrance of the alyssum. Enjoy your pretty bloomers!!!

Pretty. Mine are blooming in their container, too. They're clear crystal I think. Karen

Thanks guys! Yeah I was super excited, I didn't even bother going to get my camera just snapped the pics with my phone. Aliska- I'll try to remember. I got really ridiculous and sowed 6 different types of alyssum I think. Carpet of snow, wonderland blue, wonderland mix, oriental nights, royal carpet and aphrodite mix. I'll see if I can keep them near each other, cross pollinate and what not, see what happens next year. Jag- I got the seeds at multiple places. Bought some online, got some at walmart, some at walgreens. Most common seeds I saw were carpet of snow. Also got some in my newbie seed pack from bakemom. Eileen- your pics are the only reason I even bought a packet of seed for them in the first place! All your pics of royal carpet from last year. I stuck my face into the jugs this morning to check out the smell, spiders or no spiders. Smelled great, and no spiders yay. Too bad you won't be growing them this year, but I'm sure we'll see some amazing shots of your poppies!
