| Beautiful blooms! As a first year wsower I am very encouraged to see the end result. I keep looking at my tiny ws hos in my big bed and wondering if they will really get big and bloom. Do you fertilize often and what do you use? I have been using diluted MG so far. I mixed an organic fertilizer in the soil when I prepared my beds. Thanks so much for taking the time to post the pics. More Pictures please everyone! Linda |

| I'm glad you all like it! linda_jo, I actually don't fertilize much anymore. I was a roseaholic before I branched out into wintersowing, so most of my garden beds already existed for a few years and had lots of mushroom compost already on them and in them. The also hav the other fertilizer stuff you get into if you grow roses, like seaweed and alfalfa. The alfalfa is really great stuff because it contains tricontanol which stimulates root growth. I also mulch like crazy, which will also eventually add good texture to the soil. If they are growing in good soil, your perennials will start looking great in their second year of growth, and before you know it, you'll be worrying about them crowding each other out. |
