Hi all--Lived on this site last winter (2009-10), sewed my milk jugs as instructed. Last year, great crop annuals; this year my seedling bed is full of blooming primroses, many columbine about to bloom etc. This winter, however, I spent way too much time and $ with seed catalogues and got lazy with sewing. Thought I'd just use dollar store seedling kit (plastic with lid, couple dozen little divisions for seed--you know. Problem is, I didn't check and at some point little pockets dried out and I got no sprouts! Realize that neglect is possible with plastic jugs cause you can use enough soil with enough depth that soil stays moist longer and some neglect no big deal. Live and Learn.
