Pineapple Sage - WOW

I am amazed. I WS'd pineapple sage last year. I got a couple of small blooms before frost, but it definitely did not form seeds. I was just out inspecting the garden where it was planted and I hadn't gotten to cleaning it out yet. Fortunately I had just cut off the wood stems last year and I hadn't pulled it up. The pineapple sage is returning! I'm so excited. I don't know if it will have time to produce more flowers, but maybe this time I will use the leaves in jelly, teas, salads, yummy (I hope LOL!).

good for you!
I'm surprised it returned cuz it is usually annual in z-6.
I had it one year and it was amazing. Every time I passed by I got a yen to eat pineapple.
Then for a couple of years I tried it, and didn't have much success, so didn't get it this year.
I hope you get flowers. It is said that hummingbirds like the flowers, altho I never got any hummers - that I saw. But the bush with flowers is beautiful.

enjoy.

I think the long snow cover we had helped to keep the ground a little warmer. Since it should already have a good root system from last year, I am hoping it will bloom earlier.
