Lynda, thank you for sharing. When my garden grows up it wants to look at least half that full!

Lynda..I have a question for you. I notice that you use those buckets to plant seeds in..how much potting mix do you usually end up putting in each bucket? Everything looks so lush and healthy and I am looking forward to seeing your pictures when everything is in bloom. Do you put some type of plastic over the buckets when you wintersow in them to protect the seeds, yet give them light so they will germinate?

Pippi - the buckets aren't for winter sowing. We use them for our vegetable growing because our soil here is so bad.

Each one holds 5 gallons of soil. Thank goodness we don't have to buy it.

Connie and her goat friends provide us with all of the "black gold" we need for the buckets.

A closer look at those orange patches in the garden. Siberian wallflower - originally WS, self seeding and additional patches direct sown each fall. They are one of the few biennials that has earned a permanent place in my garden - which is almost all perennials.
