Anyone ever grow Petunia Rainmaker White?

I received these seeds in a large round robin swap and the name "Rainmaker White" was on the hand written label. Sowed them and got great germination. Just went to try to take a look at them on the internet before planting out (WHAT did swappers do before the internet?) and I can NOT find a petunia named Rainmaker. Any clues about it's habits? I was hoping that maybe it stayed perky in the rain!

The name is enigmatic. It could be one of the silver petunias that aren't really silver but silvery blue, it might be a Tidal Wave. Or it could be a rain-tolerant type which would have smaller but more durable flowers. Petunias get miserably bruised in heavy rain so if you're lucky it will be rain tolerant instead of just silvery blue.

ok, im testing my skills at getting the picture in

I wanted to put it in the msg, but couldnt do it.

I got the seeds in a swap too. I have lots of them. They were labeled Rainmaster Fragrant Heirloom Petunia.

What I see: Stems are stiff and upright. Flowers are white with a dark throat and Very fragrant. I saw the first Sphinx Moth this year with these flowers, I thought it was a hummingbird at first. I wintersowed them this year and they have been blooming for at least a month. They make huge seed pods.

Here is a link that might be useful: Rainmaster Petunia

I was able to track them down with the clue from tracey! Here is what the select seed catalog says:

Petunia 'Rainmaster'
Petunia axillaris Rare!

This heavenly scented white petunia has a modern name, but harks back to 1823 when an explorer plucked it from the mouth of the Rio de la Plata in South America. It does survive rainstorms with no marking and dissolving as some petunias are prone to do, and its sweet scent makes it an essential part of the evening garden.

Annual; 1.5-2 ft tall
Bloom Time: Summer to fall
Color: White
Full sun
Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained
Hardiness: HHA
Exclusive!

I don't think I;ve eer had a scented petunia before. Psyched!

Nan, thanks for sharing! It sounds like my petunias are as interesting as they are pretty. :-)
